Dead Mouse

dead mouse comic

Curled up in a frozen dream
Against the cold
Concrete of a high-rise
Peaceful at its foot
Lost amongst the bustle
Unnoticed
Invisible
Unknown by passersby who run from the weather
Try to make it through the storm.
The snow gently falls to cover you
Giving you a proper burial
Untouched by human hands
Until you are found and discarded as garbage.
To me you will be remembered
An anonymous, little, beauty
A worthy creature
I sit on this warm train
Unable to cover tears,
Wiping away nose drips.
I don't think anyone noticed me either.
